Zoology Unlimited, LLC (ZU) was started and established in Flagstaff, Arizona, in 1989. Initially, ZU started as a company specializing in endangered species surveys, preparing biological assessments and evaluations, habitat evaluations, and other biological fieldwork. Prior to and during this time, our principles have worked for other companies, and consulted with federal and state governments. Twenty-two years later, we are familiar with the multitude of laws, regulations, guidelines, and updates/promulgations associated with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), and Clean Water Act (CWA). Assessments of wetlands, Section 404 of the CWA, has become important part of the environmental evaluations. Our expertise includes ecological consulting services in research, monitoring, and analysis of data. The primary focus of our services is ensuring regulatory compliance with affected tribal, state and federal regulations. Our partners have specialized and technical expertise to successfully identify and evaluate the issues surrounding a wide variety of resource utilization and development activities. This experience coupled with our history of consultations with regulatory agencies throughout the country, has resulted in the successful completion of projects on private and public land in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Texas, and Utah. ZU has conducted biological work overseas in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands and the British Virgin Islands.
Zoology Unlimited, LLC (ZU) is a Navajo-owed limited liability partnership formed under Arizona State law for such companies, and is also an U.S. veteran-owned business.
